PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This is achieved through the development of local and regional recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.

We are considering candidates who can work out of one of Gilbane’s Florida offices (preferably Sarasota, Tampa or Boca Raton) or Gilbane’s Atlanta office.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist’s typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Efficiently and effectively fill open positions, which will frequently be hard-to-fill positions requiring passive sourcing
  • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position and conduct regular follow-ups with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
  • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates, develop a pool of qualified ‘want to hire’ candidates in advance of need, and maintain regular contact with possible future candidates
  • Work with local leadership to anticipate future hiring needs and develop applicable talent strategies
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting and research new recruiting strategies on an ongoing basis
  • Use social and professional networking sites, career sites, and the internet to identify and source candidates
  • Collect and present labor market intelligence including candidate preference trends and competitors’ hiring trends
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the applicant tracking system and post openings in other appropriate venues
  • Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads
  • Be an ambassador for Gilbane’s employer brand both internally and externally
  • Create contacts within the A/E/C industry and attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings
  • Manage the use of agency recruiters and headhunters
  • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements
  • Conduct prescreening interviews
  • Assure compliance with regulatory requirements

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ construction recruiting experience with 7+ years of overall recruiting experience
  • BS or MS degree in Human Resources, Business, or similar
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Understanding of recruiting principles and best practices
  • Strong communication skills to exchange information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to readily adjust approach to accommodate changing situations and respond resourcefully to new demands or circumstances
  • Ability to prioritize a demanding requisition load
  • Understanding of various construction roles, construction industry trends and issues, and competitive differentiators
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, build strong relationships, drive the recruiting process, and influence without direct authority
