PRIMARY FUNCTION: This individual will supervise all assigned project scheduling efforts and will work directly with Project Manager(s) to prepare schedules, monitor progress, while immediately notifying management of deviations that are beginning to effect completion dates. The individual will recommend adjustments and corrective action where needed,   will regularly brief management on schedules and will participate in financial reviews and provide data supporting financial progress payments to subcontractors.  This individual must be able to coordinate with other engineering and office staff in the areas of planning, project coordination, and cost management.

POSITION LOCATION:  To be determined in either South Korea, Japan, or Guam.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Scheduling Executive typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Produce comprehensive schedules in Primavera P6
  • Incorporate resource and cost loading data into schedules as required.
  • Analyze the impacts of changes to schedules and cost proposals on current construction efforts
  • Analyze validity of schedules submitted by subcontractors/vendors contributing to the project.
  • Evaluate actual construction status relative to proposed schedule and budget and prepare presentations to management of these evaluations
  • Forecast the impacts of proposed changes on the schedule.
  • Update key cost information such as Accruals, Earned Value, and Forecast
  • Update progress curves
  • Archive actual schedule historical data for use in estimating future similar projects.
  • Provide technical expertise to on-site Project Management team. 
  • Responsible for detailed regular review of progress schedules.
  • Prepare and assist in preparing construction claims and time impact analysis.
  • Support PM’s in conducting earned value analysis based on input from project staff. Recommend corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Monitor project delivery schedules as compared to baseline schedules on a regular basis and advise management when contractors fall behind.
  • Assist in the review of contingency and recovery plans. Monitor performance against such plans providing quality assurance reporting.
  • Interacts closely with the field staff to resolve field issues.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and offices

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or a related field)
  • 5-10 years of related work experience involving typical scheduling and estimating activities
  • Extensive experience in construction activities relative to developing and analyzing Critical Path Method construction schedules using Primavera P6 is required.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and apply general engineering rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend effective solutions to other engineers.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices and techniques, materials and equipment to determine compliance with Client codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, but must work effectively in teams and with senior management
  • Significant vertical construction experience, ideally on some large projects in a hands-on role
  • Ability to perform complex estimating activities, for project resource and cost loading purposes, typical to the engineering and construction industry with minimal direction and assistance
  • Evaluate input from various stakeholders and to incorporate that input into final recommendations
  • Government contract experience preferred
  • Proficient with Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and other scheduling software
  • Individual must possess (or have the ability to quickly attain) a Secret clearance.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
