PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The Document Review Engineer is responsible for reviewing construction documents to ensure accurate alignment with contract documents, while assisting senior IDC staff with administrative duties.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Document Review Engineer typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Verify that the drawing index is consistent with sheets provided
  • Verify that all .pdf files have been provided consistent with the drawing index
  • Verify that all Specifications sections are present within the Project Manual
  • Contribute to revisions of the document review process and procedures
  • Ensure a level of professionalism is maintained in correspondence (verbal and written) with Client, Design, and/or Project Teams
  • Contribute to the annual revision of the IDC Policies and Procedures Manual
  • Assist in developing/updating qualifications packets
  • Assist in organizing/maintaining business development material on the IDC portal
  • Participate in Business Unit meetings including but not limited to taking notes, tracking projects, and addressing our internal client needs.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives
  • Contribute to the preparation of business development and marketing materials, both within the Business Unit and nationally
  • Assume responsibility for the completion of all review tasks for assigned disciplines
  • Manage self-recoveries consistent with Business Unit goals, irrespective of Business Unit or national workload
  • Assist in the course instruction of Gilbane University Design Phase 6
  • Participate in the Doer-Seller initiative


  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Ability to multitask on a variety of different assignments
  • Ability to change assignments as workload priorities change
  • Strong work ethic
  • Highly organized
  • Extremely quality conscious and meticulous to detail
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft SharePoint, Evernote, and various file transfer type sites)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
