PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The Document Review Engineer is responsible for assessing and reviewing project construction drawings and specifications, compiling comments into a report for the project team and ensuring the construction drawings and specifications are accurately aligned with the contract documents.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Document Review Engineer typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • In an office setting, review construction drawings and specifications for inconsistencies and omissions and record the comments in BlueBeam.
  • Assume responsibility for the completion of all review tasks for assigned disciplines.
  • Manage self-recoveries consistent with Business Unit goals, irrespective of Business Unit or national workload.
  • Ensure a level of professionalism is maintained in correspondence (verbal and written) with Client, Design, and/or Project Teams.
  • Contribute to revisions of the document review process and procedures manual.
  • Assisting senior IDC staff with administrative duties.
  • Contribute to the annual revision of the IDC Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Assist in organizing/maintaining business development material on the IDC portal.
  • Participate in Business Unit meetings including but not limited to taking notes, tracking projects, and addressing our internal client needs.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives.
  • Contribute to the preparation of business development and marketing materials, both within the Business Unit and nationally.
  • Manage self-recoveries consistent with Business Unit goals, irrespective of Business Unit or national workload.
  • Assist in the course instruction of Gilbane University Design Phase 6.
  • Participate in the Doer-Seller initiative.


  • AS or BS in Architectural, Construction Management, or Engineering.

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Basic understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Audio Visual, Telecommunications.

  • Ability to multitask on a variety of different assignments.

  • Ability to change assignments as workload priorities change.

  • Strong work ethic.
