PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Accountant III is a mid-level professional capable of fulfilling the project accounting and project forecasting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or a singular large project, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel while overseeing and developing entry level accounting staff.     

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Accountant III typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop contract abstracts
  • Assist the Business Unit Finance Manager with the WIP process including a thorough understanding of variances and balances
  • Change management on assigned projects
  • Ensure overall compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Timekeeping administration
  • Timely and accurate billing
  • Ensure timely processing of subcontractor and vendor invoices
  • Project set up and maintenance
  • Reconcile project budget to the contract and fully executed change orders
  • Review of the general conditions and recommend adjustments where applicable
  • Manage monthly project review meeting, complete understanding of project forecast, estimate to complete and revenue recognition
  • Participate in preparation of consumption tax and annual corporate filings  as needed
  • Maintain & reconciling local petty cash and local bank accounts
  • Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies
  • Produce timely and accurate review of requisitions and lien waivers
  • Produce timely and accurate requisitions and lien waivers
  • Format and set-up project forecast to meet both internal and client reporting needs
  • Manage monthly project forecast meetings and maintain accurate ETC for employee PCI Project Completion Incentive expense
  • Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables
  • Manage the closeout process
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally
  • Review fee proposals


  • BS in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 4-8 years with CM or General Contractor Organization
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English (both languages required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient in CMiC helpful
  • Understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability
